Introduction to School Field (PLP) is one of faculty courses among the other four courses provided. This course is an observation activity in the form of an internship carried out at schools. This course provides an understanding of observation activities, analysis and direct appreciation of activities related to school culture, school management, planning, implementation and evaluation of learning by taking into account the diversity of students, formal, curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities as well as school dynamics as a education and learning development institutions. Students are required to be in school full time for 4 weeks, during which time they are exempt from lecture activities. PLP is intended to build the foundation of educator’s identity of participant-students. Students will examine the curriculum and learning module used by teachers, as well as examine the evaluation system used by them. Students will experience directly the activities of school management, school culture, school dynamics in school as an educational institution. Students will also observe the duties and functions of teachers in organizing learning and teaching administration.

Based on the program learning outcome, students can show religious, responsible, and academic attitudes and behaviours that can contribute to improving the quality of life in society, nation and state. Then, students are able to master the theories, concepts, and principles of English learning pedagogy and master relevant and up-to-date information and communication technology in English learning and research. General skills require students to have the skills to make the right decisions, professionally and responsibly based on the results of the analysis of information and data to be able to choose various alternative solutions independently and in groups in solving the learning problems they face in accordance with the context to obtain the best learning outcomes and optimal student development. Moreover, this course expects the students to be able to apply theories, concepts, and principles of English pedagogy well in planning, implementing, and evaluating English learning. 

At the end of the course, the students are able to:

  1. acquire knowledge and skills in managing activities related to school culture, school management, and school dynamics.
  2. understand the concept of English education curriculum and its implementation by taking into account the diversity of learning students at the level of approach/method, design (syllabus), procedures (techniques in the classroom), learning materials and media;
  3. perform several teacher’s task related to school culture, management, and dynamics and to learning module preparation;
