The 2nd NaCoME 2021 has successfully held online
On October 26, 2021, Mathematics Education Study Program of Sriwijaya University has successfully held their second addition of national conference called National Conference on Mathematics Education (NaCoME) 2021. This year’s theme is Mathematical Proof as a Tool for Learning Mathematics. Due to covid-19 pandemic, he 2nd NaCoME was held online through zoom conference meeting and YouTube stream.
The opening ceremony was started at 8.30 a.m. The Conference was officially opened by The Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Asc. Dr. Hartono., M.A. He convinced the importance of Mathematics as a tool for daily activities. The chaiman of the conference, Assist. Prof. Dr. Budi Mulyono, M.Sc., reported that 135 presenters have registered for the conference, some of them came from D.I Yogyakarta, East Java, West Java, and South Sumatra. Also, 254 participants have joined the conference.
This year’s conference has 3 keynote speakers and 2 invited speakers. The first speaker was Prof. Dr. Marsigit, M.A. of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia. With theme “Kant’s Theory of Mathematical Construction as the Basis for Its Prove”, He shared his analysis on the position of mathematical proof. The second keynote was Asc. Prof. Dra. Nyimas Aisyah, Ph.D. of Universitas Sriwijaya, Indonesia. She explained deeply about Value Oriented Mathematical Problem Solving Instruction in Pandemic: Challenges and Opportunities. Lastly, we had Prod. Michael de Villiers, from University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He delivered his view on whether or not the dynamic computer verification would be the end of proof. The two invited speakers were Desi from University of Minnesota, United States of America, and Wim van Horssen of TU Delft, The Netherlands.
The 2nd NaCoME has joined by two international conference publications, AIP Publishing which is indexed by Scopus, and Atlantis Press which is indexed by Web of Science. We also corporate with National Accredited Journal, Teorema, JNPM, and Lentera Sriwijaya.
