Improving teacher competence through Integrated Community Service Activities

Saturday, August 27, 2022, for the second time, the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University conducted an integrated Community Service Activity (PPM) program. This year, the Mathematics Education Study Program carried out PkM in Pagaralam City, South Sumatra in a hybrid manner, located at SMPN 1 Pagaralam and through a zoom conference meeting. The PkM activity was opened by the Pagaralam City Education and Culture Office, Cholmin Heryadi, S.Pd., M.Pd. A total of 12 lecturers and 7 students play an active role in assisting teachers who are members of the Pagaralam City Mathematics MGMP in improving their pedagogic competence.
On that occasion, the mathematics education study program carried out assistance with four different themes, including Assistance in the Use of Android-based Geometry Learning Media for Mathematics Teachers in Pagaralam City to Improve Students’ Concept Understanding, chaired by Dr. Hapizah, M.T., Computer-based Learning Assistance in Geometry for Mathematics Teachers in Pagaralam City to Improve Student Learning Outcomes with team leader Dr. Ely Susanti, Assistance in Consolidating Geometry Materials for Mathematics Teachers in Pagaralam City to Improve Student Achievement, led by Dra. Indaryanti, M.Pd, and Assistance in the Preparation of an Independent Curriculum Learning Implementation Plan for Mathematics Teachers in Pagaralam City to Develop Student Character Values ​​led by Dra. Nyimas Aisyah, Ph.D.

This hybrid activity is the second meeting, after previously PPM participants gathered online to create a Canvas Instructure account that was used to collect PPM assignments. The activity will be continued on September 10, 2022, where at the meeting the tasks made by the PPM participants will be discussed.
In addition to carrying out PPM, the activity was continued with the submission of internship students at SMPN 1 Pagaralam who was welcomed by the Principal of SMPN 1 Pagaralam, Ahmad Rifai, S.Pd., M.Pd. He welcomed the contribution of the Mathematics Education Study Program very well, and hoped that the interns could do their best for the next 1 month.
In this activity, PPM of other study programs was also carried out under the auspices of the MIPA education department of Sriwijaya University and the signing of the MoA between the Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sriwijaya University represented by the Dean of FKIP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ismet, M.Si, and the Department of Education and Culture of Pagaralam City, Cholmin Heryadi, S.Pd., M.Pd. The MoA aims to organize and improve institutional relations between the two parties and empower and improve the quality of the resources owned by both parties, one of which is the educational internship program conducted by the Mathematics Education Study Program.
It is hoped that this collaboration can run smoothly for the advancement of education, especially in Pagaralam City, South Sumatra.
