On Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Hall of the Postgraduate Building, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Sriwijaya University, Mathematics Education Cluster held a Focus Group Discussion activity to revitalize the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum for the Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral Mathematics Education Study Programs. This activity was opened by the Dean, Dr. Hartono, M.A. It was also attended by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Deputy Dean for General Administration and Finance, Head of Department, Secretary of Department, Program Coordinators, and Management of Learning Development and Education Quality Assurance (P3MP) FKIP Sriwijaya University, as well as several students.

The expert for this FGD was Dr. Ali Mahmudi, from the Mathematics Education Study Program, Yogyakarta State University, who on this occasion shared his experiences in developing and implementing the OBE curriculum in his work institutions. He said that in fact OBE is often unknowingly carried out by lecturers in carrying out and compiling learning activities, it’s just that usually the implementation of OBE without realizing it is not well documented. Thus, on this occasion, he provided the discussion participants with experience of the process that had been passed by the Yogyakarta State University Mathematics Education study program which had previously implemented OBE and was accredited by ASIIN, an international accreditation institution that accredits engineering, information, science, and mathematics study programs from Germany.

It is hoped that this activity can provide insight to lecturers and policy makers within the FKIP Sriwijaya University in preparing Mathematics Education cluster towards ASIIN accreditation in 2024.
