Kategori: What is NaCoME?

National Conference on Mathematics Education (NaCoME) is a national conference aimed at bringing together academics, researchers, and practitioners in mathematics education to share insights, research, and innovations in mathematics learning. Organized by the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Sriwijaya, NaCoME serves as a scientific discussion forum that supports the improvement of mathematics education quality in Indonesia. This conference features mathematics education experts from both national and international backgrounds and covers various topics such as the use of technology in learning, curriculum development, and innovative approaches in mathematics teaching. In addition to paper presentations, NaCoME also holds workshops designed to enhance participants' skills in specific aspects of mathematics education.

NaCoME was first held in 2019, with the theme “Modeling in Mathematics Instruction: The First Step towards Problem Solving”. This conference attracted participants from various provinces in Indonesia as well as several international countries. In 2021, NaCoME returned with the theme “Mathematical Proof as a Tool for Learning Mathematics”, highlighting the importance of mathematical proof in the learning process. The event featured keynote speakers from Stellenbosch University, Yogyakarta State University, and Universitas Sriwijaya. Each edition of NaCoME strives to broaden the knowledge and competencies of educators and prospective educators, with the hope of contributing to the development of more innovative and effective mathematics education.

Building upon the strong foundation laid in its previous editions, NaCoME 2025 marks the third installment of this prestigious conference. Scheduled for October 25th, 2025, at Universitas Sriwijaya, Indonesia—with hybrid onsite and online formats—it carries the theme “Innovations in Mathematics Education.” This year’s event aims to explore cutting-edge approaches to mathematics teaching and learning, drawing attention to the roles of technology, Realistic Mathematics Education, ethnomathematics, mathematical modeling, and international benchmarks such as PISA. By integrating joyful, meaningful, and mindful learning strategies alongside problem posing and solving, NaCoME 2025 continues its commitment to cultivating forward-thinking mathematics education. Renowned speakers including Dr. Hapizah (Universitas Sriwijaya), Dr. Rogier Bos (Utrecht University), and Dr. Adi Nur Cahyono (Universitas Negeri Semarang) will headline the conference, accompanied by a diverse panel of invited scholars from leading institutions across Indonesia. Participants will have opportunities to present their research and publish in respected journals indexed by Scopus, Sinta, Garuda, and Google Scholar. With its inclusive platform for educators, researchers, and practitioners, NaCoME 2025 promises not only academic enrichment but also practical pathways toward transforming mathematics education on national and global scales.
