The Master Program in Mathematics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sriwijaya, continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence by organizing a series of structured academic activities. On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the program successfully held two key academic events in parallel: the thesis proposal seminar and the final thesis defense, both conducted at the FKIP Postgraduate Campus, Universitas Sriwijaya, Palembang.
The thesis proposal seminar was attended by 14 students, consisting of 13 from the 2024 cohort and one from the 2023 cohort. Each student presented their research proposal before a panel of academic supervisors and examiners who provided valuable feedback and constructive suggestions to refine and strengthen the research design. The seminar served not only as an academic requirement but also as an important forum for enhancing the quality and rigor of students’ planned research projects.
Simultaneously, the final thesis defense was held for students who had completed the entire research and thesis writing process. The defense marked a significant milestone, representing the culmination of their academic journey and recognizing their dedication, perseverance, and scholarly achievements throughout the program.
The academic agenda continued on Monday, June 30, 2025, with the implementation of the thesis result seminar. This session is intended for students who have completed their data collection and analysis phases. It serves as an evaluative platform to present findings, receive feedback, and ensure academic standards are met before proceeding to the final defense. The thesis result seminar underscores the program’s effort to maintain the quality of each academic stage and to promote a culture of research integrity and excellence.
All activities were carried out smoothly and in an orderly manner, reflecting the strong academic spirit among students and faculty. These events reaffirm the program’s dedication to cultivating highly competent, ethical, and research-oriented graduates who are ready to contribute meaningfully to the field of mathematics education in Indonesia.
