The Mathematics Education Study Program of Universitas Sriwijaya successfully organized The 2nd NaCoME (National Conference on Mathematics Education) and Workshop on Mathematical Proving online on October 26–27, 2021. This conference carried the theme “Mathematical Proof as a Tool for Learning Mathematics” and was attended by academics, lecturers, researchers, and students from various universities in Indonesia and abroad.
The event was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hartono, M.A., Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Sriwijaya. The conference featured prominent keynote speakers, including Prof. Michael de Villiers from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa; Prof. Dr. Marsigit, M.A., from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta; and Assoc. Prof. Nyimas Aisyah, Ph.D., from Universitas Sriwijaya.
In addition to paper presentation sessions, the event also included a special workshop on Mathematical Proofing conducted directly by Prof. Michael de Villiers. Participants’ enthusiasm was high, as reflected in the large number of abstracts and scientific papers submitted for publication in reputable international proceedings.
Through The 2nd NaCoME, the Mathematics Education Study Program of Universitas Sriwijaya reaffirms its commitment to supporting the exchange of ideas, research findings, and the development of innovations in mathematics education.
