Several students from the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education, FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya, took part in a Public Lecture organized by the Master’s Program in Physics Education on Friday, May 16, 2025. The event took place from 08:00 to 11:00 AM (WIB) at the Main Hall of the FKIP Graduate Building, Universitas Sriwijaya.
The public lecture featured a distinguished speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Rusdi, S.Pd., M.Sc., a Professor of Chemistry Education from Universitas Jambi. In his presentation, Prof. Rusdi addressed the topic:
“The Integration of Design Research, Action Research, and Experimental Research in Educational Problems.”
This theme was particularly relevant and valuable for postgraduate students currently engaged in thesis research and development.
During the lecture, Prof. Rusdi delivered a comprehensive explanation on how the three research approaches—design, action, and experimental—can complement one another in addressing challenges within the field of education. His presentation was enriched with real-world examples drawn from field-based research practices, providing participants with deepened insight.
The active participation of Mathematics Education Master’s students in this event reflects a strong interdisciplinary collaboration within FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya. The students were enthusiastic, attentively following the lecture and engaging in discussion, especially on how integrated research approaches can be applied to mathematics education contexts.
This activity is expected to broaden students’ perspectives in choosing and developing effective research methodologies to address pressing issues in education.
